  • The country has had debt since I believe 1836. There is good debt abnd bad debt. Borowwing money to build an interstate highway system is good debt. Having a defense budget larger then the combined spending of every other country on earth is not. Spending money to ease unemployment is good debt.

  • Rick- I realize the right views keynesian economics in a bad light but if you look at the countrie sthat have tried it(with sufficient dollars to make an impact) like China and s Korea they have come out of the recession fine.

  • alienjon- I know this will be hard but please pay attention. The deficit is a PROBLEM. The economy with MASSIVE unemployment is a bigger problem. Water costs a lot of money. My house is on fire. Do I spend money on water? Tough choice.

  • the problem Rick-312779 is the rich NEVER spend all their tax savings. They invested it- much of it overseas. The Chinese Stocks are giving a much better return then the us market(for decades). To be called Rich generally means you have everything already- nice home, nice car, nice furniture.

  • all we need is a little cooperation from the RepubliCONS. You do realize we have had about 1 million state workers(teachers, nurses, firemen and police primarily) laid off due to your sides unwillingness to allow continued fed grants( I know stimulus money) go to states to prevent lay off.
